Hi, Little Jim is currently rust proofing the underside. Seems to be leaking from the rear of the gearbox, where the shaft goes in. Would I be correct in thinking this should be just a case of remove the shaft, replace a seal, and all good?
Cheers

Yes it's a bit of a faff getting old one out
I put new in with a socket  on an extension bar tapped home with hammer

Just make sure if you're not draining oil to reverse up some ramps
This will keep oil level below the seal

Replied by me101 on topic Gearbox rear seal replacement
I bought a seal puller when doing rear wheel bearing, so hope that works. I did think about not draining oil, good point.

It's quite often a leak in UJ yoke. You will see a pressed cap in the middle of the joint, oil leaks from here. Clean it and epoxy it in place
