I'd have expected 10x1.25, the Japanese always use fine threads into alloy. They tend to use reduced head sizes too, so you need those spanners that are always missing from the short sets (11mm, 15mm, 16mm & 18mm)
If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Crikey, UNF threads on a Japanese car!The bolt size was "7/16-20 UNF" for anyone looking in future
