As l said some time ago, if they can offer attractive PCP payments (because of high predicted residuals) then the sticker price is irrelevant.
So it could be £35,000 and if the deposit is £5,000 and payments are under £300pm it's going to sell.

The finance example they're offering alongside it works out a bit more than £300 a month, as attached.
They also have a pre reg 71 plate gen 4 commercial for the same price.

Well that kicks my theory into touch. £562 per month!
You'd have to have more money than sense to pay those prices. Although the MGFV is pretty
low at £10,000 so it would be worth buying it at the end, to sell on.
l guess the dealer is just trying it on, hoping someone who's just trousered an inheritance and got money to burn, will bite.

Crickey, that is frightening. I consider myself to be lucky, I placed an order - no deposit - Jimny arrived in 6 months - black, as requested - cost around £20,000, paid cash.
Only downside is the amount of time I spend checking that no one has nicked it!!!. I think I must start parking it in the back garden.
After all, isn't that what gardens are made for
Roger

Well, that was quick!
Drove past the dealers again this morning and the spot that had the gen4 in it now has a gen3 there @£22980. 2017, 16000 miles, SZ4.

Without the final payment, it will cost you £25k over 3 years.
It will then be a 7 year old car with who knows how many miles, but somewhere 25-50k.
Who knows how much it will be worth, I doubt more than £15k.
So you have to pay the final payment of nearly £10k, otherwise it has cost you £25k over 3 years, that is £8k a year.
If you sell it straight away, say get £15k it has still cost you £20k over 3 years, not much better.
So you have to pay the final amount and keep the car long term, just look after it very well.
It doesn't make much sense to me, in 3 years time we might have the hybrid version, which you will be able to buy new for less than this.
