Just looked on Auto Trader and the cheapest is £22,000.
Most are £24,000+

Suzuki dealers are all asking £24,000+ and in some cases £30,000 or more.

TBH l am surprised at this, we paid an over-the-odds £24,000 for a 2020 with extras last Summer and l expected prices to have dropped below £20,000 by now.
Particularly as 2021 saw the end of the first wave of PCP agreements.

Yes its interesting that they remain high, but good news for those that have one.
I do wounder how many actually sell at these prices or if we have entered the "stand off" stage. Seller wants £££, remaining purcahser wants ££, so they both wait!
We have approx a 2:1 G3/G4 ratio on Autotrader suggesting G4's for sale is high if you factor in how many of each are actually in the UK.

All hyperthetical as the price will be what the price is. I guess the next interesting point will be if the comercial G4 makes it to the UK and what if anything the dealers do with the RRP.

Quick to go up and slow to come down, it's the same with the cost of fuel.

The problem is at £24 - £30k the Jimny starts to be put up against several alternatives.

We can just hope they don't go mad with the comercial version, then we will see prices fall a little.

I was one of the lucky ones in June 2019 to get mine at a touch over 18k. The dealer slid a Suzuki management note under my nose he had received a few days before saying the Jimny would be going up 500 quid. I said absolutely not especially after a 7 month wait and appalling service. I don't really have a leg to stand on with complaining over 500 quid especially with the prices touching 29k last year. I was aware that the second hand market would explode with elevated prices. It will be interesting to see how to commercial version with no rear seats will affect this or will the 4 seater still remain high due to being a rare model even with conversions being on the horizon.

I'll feel more comfortable after they've dropped a bit, feels like I need to wrap it in cotton wool at the moment!

Have seen lots come up for sale recently, people realising they can't live with the size and presumably some cashing out while the market is high, although the ones listed over £23k don't seem to be shifting, so perhaps things are cooling down.

Vague rumours of Suzuki swapping to a new power unit at some point, which could really kill prices for the 1.5.

I think there has been a definite slowing in sales, the high priced ones are hanging around unsold at the moment as far as I can see. With the modified Gen4 ones, its getting to the point where they are "not worth the sum of their parts" i.e adding on a £1000 roof rack does not add £1000 to the price of the car. Many Gen3 owners sort of fall into that trap and end up removing the parts and selling them separately to realise better value.

With the commercial Jimny on the horizon people will be debating whether to buy a modded older one at £25,000 or a new one for say £18,500 and spending the £6,500 they saved on putting on their own modifications. A modifier owner will not worry that the commercial only has two seats.

Even a none modifier will not worry. Its actually a bonus for a few, myself included, as the first thing I did on my G3 was remove the rear seats. So I would not need to modify a new comercial G4 if it was supplied with no rear seats fitted, result.

Changing the engine won't "kill" prices for the 1.5, as it's so well suited to the vehicle. lt may make the original version a little less desirable compared to the new version, but as all are likely to be in short supply it likely won't affect values very much.
Not that it would really worry us, as ours is unlikely to ever be for sale.
I doubt Suzuki will go to the expense of doing an engine swap, but it would be great if they did.

The Suzuki 1.0 turbo would be a great choice.

My local Land Rover specialist have just taken in a 3,000 mile 2019 Jimny SZ5.
They have it up at £23,995
Lets see if it sells. l have a feeling it won't be around for long, as they are a very well regarded dealer and in the current market that's a fair price.

The Jimny sold for £23,995 !

lt was a standard 2019 silver SZ5 with 3,000 miles and no extras.
