it's not gone well,
Alternator went monday, broke down again Tuesday. (I didn't tighten the belt properly my fault) Wednesday four wheel drive gave up. I've bodged a fix using some medical tubing I had around.
The vacuum tubing is badly corroded and falling to bits, I looked at replacing the lot but it's another £160 which I don't have at the minute after buying the Alt, i'm only a student.
So
Manual Hubs could be the answer I'm on a 52 plate and the cheaper ones seem to fit up to '98.
Any advice on cheap vacuum fixes or Manual Hubs much needed!
Thanks
Nes

are they a standard number of splines seems to be 26 up to '98 can't find any info after that.
so just to be straight with the manual ones it's gets rid of all of the vacuum system other than stopping the light flashing?

Temeraire (2018 quasar grey automatic)
One of the last 200ish of the gen3s, probably.
ADOS Attention Deficit Ooooh Shiny!

Upto 98 are sj hubs and need an additional spacer to clear the sealing ring on the Jimny hub nut. This does work but it also reduces the length of spline contact on the drive shaft, not ideal especially for heavy quarry bashing but serviceable none the less.

I'm definitely no expert but the same thing happened to me on my 04 plate and I installed AVM hubs from Jimnybits. It solved the problem immediately and has been great since. I thinks it was also the only DIY job I've done that went eithout complication lol - very straightforward. There is also a non-branded version that is cheaper, and the description says it fits all models of Jimnys.

Sorry to be an idiot! I am an ex aircraft tech and an engineering PhD but this seems to have me beaten!
To use the locking hubs you do that on the outside. And then engaging 4wd?
If you lock them in 2wd does that mean the wheels rotate the drive shaft?
