hello! i have an 04' GV with the standard steering wheel. I can tell that it has become very brittle and will start falling apart pretty soon. i really like the leatherette wrapped wheels from the SWIFT, SWIFT SPORT and newer VITARA.

has anyone ever done the swap from either of these cars to the GV or JIMNY?

Does anyone know if the splines are the same?

never mind about airbags as my OEM wheel does not have one

... and NO, i do not want to wrap or add a cover to my current wheel :P

swift...

swift sport

newer vitara

If its a non-airbag steering wheel then you can swap in pretty much any other Suzuki steering wheel, the splines are common. I'm sure that you could fit an airbag steering wheel, I'd have to check.

Some Suzukis and a bunch of motorcycles.

I have one to try but I've misplaced the clock-spring, I haven't the faintest idea where I've put it :(

Sorry for bringing up this old chestnut again, but I want to take the steering wheel of my 04 hardtop and fit it in my 53 soft top.

Both have airbags.

Can I just swap wheels or do I have to disable the airbag system first?

Gus :)

I would disable the air bag prior to swopping over, disconnect the battery and the inline fuse(fuse panel) give it a few minutes before stripping out.
Happy swopping B)

Did anyone try any of these swaps? I got my hands on a brand new leather wrapped swift sport wheel. I hope it fits

You will probably find that the connectors are different.

I still haven't come across that clock spring!

Well, my OEM wheel doesn't have an airbag, so no worries there. I just hope the splines are the same.

Hey, just bought a Suzuki Jimny 2003 model in Australia. the steering wheel is falling apart and need a new one. Any ideas on where i can find any steering wheel that will fit with a working Airbag. OEM or not need a wheel with an Airbag that isn't falling apart on me.
