Pottering today, did a few things I had to do, and then escaped to the garage...
Started with an oil change, I'd bought a load of oil off a guy here in the forum some months ago who had sold his Jimny, I've used most of the gear oils, but the box also contained Castrol GTX and an oil filter...
So I dropped the oil, replaced the seal on the drain plug, took the old oil filter off, and discovered the new one in the box was for an older JImny (nevermind it will do for S200KYS next oil change)... bugger! So, off to Halfords, none listed, so off to the main dealer and get stung £17.17 for one... I had to pay it as the Jimny was half in and half out of the garage with no oil in the engine!
I then finished wiring up the LED spotlights -
That looks a little odd as the daylight running lights (converted fogs) are on, that's because the ignition isn't on (they'd go off with the lights being on normally), but it shows all the lights off well

Thanks Lambert, Dan and OLA
Think that's it "finished" really, that's all that I wanted to do to it...
Time to continue enjoying ('daily') driving it!

Bah! The sump has become porous
I noticed a little leak a couple of weeks ago, so decided to change the oil and the sump plug gasket thinking it was that...
And it continued to drip! The sump has rusted through...
So a new one is winging it's way over from the BigJimny store, of course!, especially as it was cheaper than I could have got it from my own local tame Suzuki dealership...
Thanks Martin!

I had a shock and a bit of a panic yesterday!
I'd planned to spend my day off writing the blogs of our weekends greenlaning in the Lake District... I just had to nip out first to drop off and collect some parts from plating as ZookBOB, and when I got back the mail had been...
And there was a letter from the Police asking them to help with their enquiries?! They wanted to know all the details of the purchase of the gold Jimny?! There was a form attached full of questions, and an email address and mobile phone number of the officer dealing with the investigation...
So I panicked a bit thinking God, what if the Jimny wasn't his to sell? Stolen? Finance still owing on it?.... Voicemail
So I started gathering all the bits for the blogs... and then the officer rang me back and we had a bit of a chat... he assured me I wasn't about to lose the Jimny and that it was more an investigation about financial irregularities of the seller? So I emailed him all the details of the purchase transaction, and then got on with the blog...
I had visions of having to take all the modifications off before it was repossessed or whatever!
Phew!

 Also... the daily driver came in useful on Saturday morning... just about to leave for the Lakes and...
S200KYS wouldn't start! The battery had depleted as it had been sitting around far too long
So in came the daily driver to give it a jump!

Bah! Failed it's MOT...
Number Plates mis-spaced 'BT5 4 VTS' instead of 'BT54 VTS'
LED bulbs have to come out of the headlights (for the retest!)
Bit of welding on the offside sill (did the nearside sill for the last MOT)
Sort them jobs on Wednesday then.......

Day off today, so a few little errands out of the way and then disappeared under the Jimny -
Ahh, yes, there's the hole in the offside sill..
And the back of the rear arch
Shaped a patch for the sill...
And welded in place and undersealed... tick! One job off the list
And then the same for the rear arch...
And just had time, or so I thought...
... to only install one of a pair of standard length HD panhard rods from '4x4Outlet' (JimnyBits) on eBay... I was hoping to fit the pair, but like the sills and arches the nuts and bolts are rusty too! So by the time I fought the one off the axle, and cut the one off the chassis, I had to call it a day having only installed the one...
Almost ready for a gentle greenlaning wander me thinks?! :woohoo: Whilst the blue one is being repaired
