Riccy - D'Oh! I just went for some nice big hinges, never thought of piano hinges along the edge... Into the end 'grain' of plywood though? I'm sure my 6mm countersunk bolts and strengthening plates will be more suitable for my boys though -
(We were having dinner, so they had their ties on!)
They are brothers, Buddy (the Bear) on the left, and Milo on the right...

The finished floor ready to go in...
In the upright position... just needs a bungee cord around the headrests to hold it up in position...
Laid flat... the rear headrests are taken off, the seats folded as much as they can, and then the floor folds out over them...
Job done!

It's 3mm x 30mm angle iron, half inch ply, a few hinges and some rubber matting?
It was either that or strap the dogs to the roof-rack, but then I figured the CofG would be a bit high

Ah, I must have done a good job then? It's actually rubber matting... Go back a page

And thought we'd better test it?
Hmmm, they don't look so sure?....
They soon settled down though!
Relieved to get home! (Buddy "the Bear" on the left, and his little brother Milo on the right)
In hindsight, they need to be wearing harnesses securely tied in incase of an accident... they are big dogs to come flying forward at you!
