I've had my brisk blue LCV for almost 2 years now.
Recently added progressive springs with Bilstein shocks for a mild 20mm lift. Excellent road manners with decent off road performance as green lanes are the most radical dirt tracks I intend on driving.
Last week a mate and I drove around the Yorkshire dales and looking back at some the videos the water crossings were fine for his Warrior, but came close to touching the bonnet on the Jimny.
Still not sure if a snorkel is worth it, as those crossing points are dry for most of the summer.

Water can get everywhere tbh.

Jimny only has a 12" wading depth, this is down to the axles not having extended breathers (which is a bit crap really)/ They use a little one way valve instead on top of the axle casing. So prone to sucking water in.

Next lowest point is probably the transfer box breather.

Obviously you don't want water in the engine, so a raised intake can be handy, but tbh I personally wouldn't want to dunk my Jimny that deep anyhow. Water will get into the starter motor and other things once you are going that deep.

But if it is unplanned wading, then better to be prepared than not.

If you get a snorkel make sure you get a breather kit as well. My Jimny (also Blue) came with a TJM Snorkel fitted and I added the Des Sol breather kit to front and rear diffs as well as the transfer case.

The Des Sol kit is well thought out and easy enough to fit, you are then ready to wade up to the electrics (possibly slightly higher for a short period of time).

Increasingly I am of the impression that there is a direct correlation between the depth of one's pockets and one's preparedness to enter a body of water. My pockets are shallow and so is my car's wading depth. Trying to drive through water kills cars all the time, fine if you can afford to fix it but why bother in the first place?

I'd be very careful with water crossings in a Jimny. At the point to which you would actually need a snorkel on a Jimny the chances of water entering the car are pretty high and you have to start asking yourself is it really worth it having the interior or indeed your car ruined. The other thing to factor in especially during the winter months is the flow of the water. Many 4x4s get caught out with the power at which the water can push you. Your mate in his heavier pickup truck maybe fine but a little Jimny could be swept away. It really doesn't take much for a Jimny to become buoyant. Sorry to sound negative but have seen too many get caught out by this sort of stuff.
