Agreed Dagzook,

For me it's the peace of mind when far from civilization that they are dependable, especially with only 1 spare (in Africa we carry 2 on a lot of trips).

I'll get them, just not yet. Need to get some use out of these ones first - I have nowhere to store them so would be wasted.

Don't misunderstand I have bfg tyres on Dreadnaught. Just the urban terrain ones, they last seemingly infinitely long never really struggle to find some grip on anything like a made road, even in fields on wet grass they just work. They even handled the BigJimny forum meet last year at the pay and play though I wasn't diving into every mud hole I could find but still.

Yesterday I wired in a live 12V socket and V measurement item in the push to start holder - seen on this forum too.

Not too complicated to do.

Chalky which fuse did you piggy pack off? Was it an ignition 12V feed or constant? I'm pretty sure Gadget took his feed direct from the battery so that he could charge things whilst the engine was off. I've been meaning to do this for a while!

Dagzook,

I used the spare live on (20amp). I copied someone on this forum in this regard - I also wanted to have one while the key is out. .

I found this page that has a wiring diagram for the Jimny, I used #5 :

I installed the Jimny style radius arm protectors, they are the most exposed points and would rather have them protected.

Not 100% happy with the quality of the covers if I'm honest - for their price. But it will do the job.

I installed the Big Jimny rear recovery point. I didn't think the Jimny style ones are designed well enough and I wouldn't have full faith in them. These ones are ridiculously heavy and well designed and attached, super heavy and probably over kill, but rather safe than sorry. It comes with two but due to the weight I decided just to fit one.

While I had the read bumper off, it was the best time to fit my Suzuki reverse camera.

So I did all that, and installed a rear camera for my dashcam, easy enough with everything open.

Lovin the seat covers. I'm undecided between the escape gear and the takla. Yours look super nice, and i love the deep camo colour.

These will last a lifetime thats for sure.

Looking forward to your build project buddy.
