Hi all,

I recently bought a 2020 Jimny in white - I plan to trek around the UK and Europe (covid depending).

I spent the last 3 years living out of my land cruiser in Africa (between work) and decided a simpler approach to Europe, and got to satisfy my love for the Jimny.

Meet Chalky_the_Jimny:

My first car many many years ago was a Jimny too - meet Jimmy (2000 model - shot in 2008):

The day I got it:

First things first - speaker and grill upgrade.

I also installed the mud flaps (horrible drilling into the bumpers), upgraded the fog lights and indicator coverr.

Welcome to the forum. That's cool. I would love to have the facility to toddle my way round the UK for a few months. Maybe when I retire?

Hi Chalky the Jimny, sounds like a great idea and welcome along.
A few on here have adapted the Jimny as a sleeping wagon, some good ideas floating around.
Lambert - don't wait for retirement if you have any plans, make them happen while you can. Life's not predictable enough to place your dreams in that stage of life.

Yokohama Geolanders, Sony head unit, NAUTILUS Air Horn, DRL conversion, Rear cargo space, Elvis Bobblehead, transfer Guard, Indian hanging Elephant, Koni Heavy track dampers, Custom SS exhaust, Voodoo Doll, Adventure Rack with LED ight bar, vintage ERIBA caravan usually attached (yes it's slow)

It's the joy of being a shepherd, I have to put the welfare of my sheep above everything and whilst I may currently be able to count on my parents for a bit of relief on a weekend, a few months is a different matter all together. Also shepherding has a lot to recommend it.

Hello and welcome Chalky, looking forward to see what mods you do to make the Jimny into a micro-camper.

You've probably seen this but in case someone hasn't..

I think Andrew St Pierre White is a very good story teller, and he is certainly a serious overlander. This is his Jimny overland review

Mike, yeah I've seen it, such a goodie, keep it simple and cruise on!

Busy week for me.

I've changed the DRL to the LED spec ones, much better look:

I then wired in the dash cam cabling behind the trim. Still waiting for a fuse plug to cable into the system so I don't need to use the 12v port for it all the time.

I had the rear windows tinted to keep my gear out of sight - I used protint Leamington spa and happy with their work

I added the defogger cable covers from Jimnystyle and a sneaky Instagram handle sticker -

Next up I added the protector strip in the cargo bay, would have way preferred black or white but hey yo

I added the wind deflectors and side protectors. Tough job, considering the weather requirements and being in the uk..... Also getting that side protector straight was a mission.

I'm not a fan of the wheel cover supplied, so I removed it and ordered a hub cap center from Suzuki.
