I also got around to giving her a service!

My new philosophy now when it comes to repairs and maintenance now is OEM or better (apart from the FREE shock absorber!) So I ordered Genuine Filters as well as Ecstar Oil, as I couldn't find 0w20 anywhere.

I also swapped out my spark plugs, as I couldn't remember if I'd replaced them since I'd owned the car, and I had what I thought were the correct Denso ones lying around in the shed. I think I got them from Euro Car Parts, never fitted them as the rubber bung that attaches to the end of the lead had gotten stuck and I couldn't get it out.

Of course with further research I discovered they weren't, part №s weren't anywhere near the same, so I ordered the correct ones from eBay (still Denso) and got them fitted.

Good for another Year/10000 Miles!

next I should probably change the gearbox oil.

Finally got around to fitting my JDM steering wheel today! it's only been mounted on my bedroom wall for about a year like some sort of hunting trophy  . Was easy enough following the guide on the wiki and the old steering wheel to grind it to size. Goes well with the stalks I installed the other day too!

Finally got around to replacing my seat base today, it's been crumbling not long after I fitted them.

Next on the mod list may be heated seats...

Been a very busy bee over the last few months, I have

Had the gearbox replaced - I managed to find an R72 on eBay from a 2016 Jimny for just £210!!! I got my regular garage to fit it and that was just shy of an additional £300... it was well worth it and the car sounds so quiet now, any of the noises I was trying to diagnose were gone (caused by the old box). However it did uncover the other noises that were being hidden behind it! which leads me to the next repair...

Replaced rear wheel bearing - This was one of the noises that was masked by the old gearbox, and next on my list. It was relatively easy to do as I'd done a disc conversion previously. However I failed to replace the oil seal, and it's now leaking, although I'll have to go do some more work on the rear axle (brake pads) it's no big deal.

And that's it for now, next on my list are to clean out the idle control valve, and possibly the EGR as I'm having issues with rough ilding and a temporary loss of power... however the latter may be due to a slipping clutch.

I've also bought a few goodies recently, including an X-Adventure Salamon (or whatever it's called) spare wheel cover. It was listed on a UK breakers eBay page and snapped it up immediately! It's got a bit of a dent on it but I'm planning on respraying it (like the majority of parts on the car ).

I also had another package from Japan arrive!  In order:

- Spare Wheel Cover Strap
- Speaker Cover/ Flare Holder (in the correct shade of grey now!)
- Seat Anchor Covers (in the WRONG shade of grey )
 - 40th Anniversary Keyring (it lights up!)
 - Padlock and Cloth Set
 - and to go with my spare wheel cover... matching floor mats!

I also found a set of OEM sunshades (again on eBay) and could'nt resist! There's a few tears in them but I've "sewn" them up for now...
