Very short (26 second) Youtube video of the 1st run of my Jimny with the new 1600 motor.

This is my 2000 Jimny Cabriolet (Rag top). We recently fitted a G16B 1600 motor from a Suzuki Baleno. Adaptor kit and donor vehicle cost under $600. This enabled us to take the Baleno motor (East west mount) and turn it into a north south mount. THis new motor has 350,000 k's less than original G13BB 1300 motor and the Jimny has become quite frisky after all these years. :woohoo:

Driving the Jimny up to my home in "The Big Desert" in NW Victoria Australia in a couple of weeks, when I will put together a decent off-road video and let you know how it performs in the sand and scrub.

Just comparing the specs on the G13BB to the G16B from the Jimny and the Baleno Hatch.

2000 Jimny Cabriolet G13BB H/P 60 6000 revs Torque 103nm 4500 revs
2000 Baleno Hatch __G16B H/P 98 6000 revs Torque 135nm 3000 revs

That higher torque at lower revs should come in handy

Nearly a 50% increase in power should come in handy!

Did you get a better flowing exhaust.....or leave the peashooter on?

I already had extractors and 100cpsi Cat and straight-through muffler on a 2" system but this Friday a new High-flow 2 1/2' system is being fitted with larger 4-2-1 headers and no cat. Looking forward to that and pulling the gearbox out on Sunday for overhaul as there is a bit of slack in the system after 470,000 k's and 16 years on the road and off. Fitted an aluminium checkerplate floor during the week. Has cutout for the Jack compartment and tie-downs to be fitted sometime soon.
