2007 Red Jimny - 31's and 4" lift was created by MattB12
Hi all, this is my 2007 VVT Jimny. I've had it for a while now and love everything about it since the day I bought it.
It's my commuter to work during the week and at the weekends I like to explore the lanes around me. The closest big green laning area to me is the Salisbury plains.
My plan has been to kit Jimny out with self recovery in mind if i'm on my own, it's an on going thing.
So here we are, the day I bought it completely standard:
First thing I did was change the wheels for some 15x7 -30 modulars and 205/75/15 Grabber AT2's.
Next was a JimnyBits winch tray with HD tow points along with a 6000LB winch. The tray is an excellent bit of kit and very strong, I've had some fun with this winch already. Really happy with them both.
After getting somewhat stuck in places and realising I needed a bit more ground clearance I fitted a 4" suspension lift. Along with this some castor corrected arms (front & rear), adjustable panhard rods and front prop spacer. Polybushes all round. The plan at this point to fit bigger wheels!
Also, for my year Jimny I had to fit a rear prop spacer with this lift. Without one the the rear prop is right on it's limits of extension and caused a droning type noise and vibration through the chassis. I fitted an 18mm spacer to the diff side which looks like it sorted it, i'm going to look into a high angle prop as well.
Still on the 205/75's at the moment, also equipped myself with some waffle boards and a spade up top:
Next I fitted some 31's, these are on my 15x7 -30 rims. They are mud terrain GT Radial Adventuro.
Got the rears on first, here you can see the comparison between the stock 205/70's. I always take the wheels loose to a garage and as I still had the original set I stuck them on and carted everything to them. They looked really odd with so much space in the arches:
And the fronts went on:
A little bit of flex to see what was what:
Very close, I was well aware that the arches were going to need trimming before I took on this task:
And as it stands at the moment. I've also removed the rear seats for more capacity and laid down some 12mm carpeted chipboard but I don't have a picture of this yet though.
This weekend I plan to trim the arches back, tidy up the bumpers a bit and then hopefully that will be it and i'll be ready to go exploring once more.
Next mod after that will probably be lighting.

I also have a passion for another type of Suzuki.
GSXR 1000 K4 - Good times with this one.
MK1 Bandit 1200. This one I will never part with, this bike is 21 years old now and its so much fun to ride. I've owned it for 7 years now. I've done a few basic mods that suit me perfectly - 08 GSXR rear shock, uprated front springs, carb jet kit, full stainless exhaust system, GSXR rearsets. Last winter I stripped it down, removed the engine and resprayed it and had the frame, wheels and various other bits powder coated. Replaced all the bearings. It has some nice power and agility, always puts a massive grin on my face.

Tidy looking Jimny (and bike)...
how do you find the gearing with the 31's on? ive got basically the same with 215/75r15 on 30mm spacers and its catching a bit (but havent attacked the bumpers yet). the gearing seems ok however at the moment.

Fantastic looking Jim there! Mines the same, 56 plate vvt in those colours. Love it. Only got a 2" on mine lift wise, with 215/75 BF muds as its a daily driver and wanted to keep cost down (ie bigger tyres need to change gearing). Iv got that winch tray, and a winch waiting to go on to. Keep us posted on what you do to it and get a pic of how you've done the boot to when you can.
Top work!
