Nice we always spend Xmas at Whitby and a few years ago Xmas Eve was going over nym and the snow started was a good job we was in my jimny 02 the mountain rescue closed the moors but we came over no problem :evil:

If you came via the A64 then through Pickering, the Hole of Horcum (Saltersgate) road is notorious for snow closure.
It's pretty desolate out there in the snow, and it pays to take precautions!

yes thats the way we came it was fun must be said it was dark 6pm xmas eve some very worried people stuck up there waiting for the snow plough to come from whitby turn round in flyingdales and try to make a road back to whitby i got out of the jimny talking to people in cars they gave me gifts thorntons choccies ect the plough came we started to follow it and it burts an hydraulic hose on the plough and broke down so i came off the moors alone wifh wife 4 year old son and suitcases the jimny was worth its weight in gold that night i had it 7yr now and its never let me down
