the idiotmobil was created by idiotmobil
though I would start a thread about my jimny build and pics from out offroading
I got the jimny back about 7 months ago its a 2003 rag top and had 60.000 miles on it for £1300
it had a two inch lift, offset wheels, bucket seats, 235/75/15s ats, some strange tube bumpers and a tiny 3000lb winch full mot and tax, and had never been offroad and it showed

toke it out straight away and it performed ok gearing wasn't the best and the at weren't aggressive enough for me got stuck a few times but the little winch didn't fail once linked up to the ground anchor I found in the boot (that had never been used)

so out come the credit card and the modding started first to be sorted was the castor correction bushes, rocklobster, and some mud terrains but it needed a bigger lift to cope with the tyres so ordered some 3" springs and shocks and trimmed the arches I stuck with the correction bushes as its not to bad arms will have to come later
I think this transformed it in my opinion

after making it much better and some were near where it needed to be money got tight and I started on the stuff I can make my self

first to be made was some rear shock protection

then some radius arm mount guards in 5mm steel

the snorkel was a very cheep one from ebay that had to be changed I was thinking of how to do something different and settled on stainless as its strong and shinny

I got hold of a cheep farm jack as nothing would lift it with the big tyres and lift and had to mount it some were so made a bracket for the rear door as the spares in the back so had space for it

next up was getting rid of the horrible bumpers that were made of scaffold bar and weighed a ton wile I was at in though mite as well change the winch so got hold of some sheet steel from a friend and ordered a winch it 3000LB winch with synthetic rope bumper cost me the grand sum of £12

also went to paint the grills in the bonnet but wile stripping the white paint of melted the plastic so had to replace some one shown me a pic of mesh that looked great so in it went

that's about how far ive got so far there's plans for a rear winch bumper very soon and I have some sheet left over also going to make some radius arms soon and should have the mould done for the fast back

ill keep you posted as theres more to come sorry if this has been a little hard to read English was never my strong point at school
