No pictures yet, as I don't pick her up until tomorrow but I just purchased a silver mode 2005 pavement princess with low mileage, not too shabby. Can't wait!
I used to own one in the 90's and loved it. Not planning to mod it much really, just some nice tyres so we don't get stuck in fields or snow out and about, it's not my main vehicle.

I did have a few questions though, I want to put some MT or AT's on her. She's currently got the three spoke alloys on, should I swap these too and order a complete wheel set/combo or keep the wheels and just replace the tyres, I've seen a few grumbles about those wheels on here.

Also, without spacers and a lift what's size should I go for?

Thanks.
Rob.

Hey Rob,

Welcome! Im thinking on the same lines as you. Not planning to lift her, but was going to get spacers and some modulars with AT/MT's. Saw yesterday jimnybits sell modulars with -30 offset, which should mean you don't need the spacers? Not sure if thats right guys so please correct me if im wrong/this is a bad idea! They're the same price as with 0 offset and should help the handling a wee bit/ will look awesome!

Just something to consider, be interested to see what you go for tyre wise as i've really no idea right now!

Tom

If your not going to lift the wee bessy I wouldnt bother with spacers as you wont need them and they will limit tyre choice. If you go up go out to but if you dont go up why bother going out?!

i currently run stock suspension with 195 80 15 kl71 muds (which gives me abit more ground clearance) and they almost rub now at full flex! If I fitted spacers it would rub loads specially on the back.

I know someone on here whos got spacers and the same size tyres as me all be it at's and his rubs and my kl71s have more meat on em so are larger still.

the above tyres seem very good on and off road I highly recomend them and they look the sh*#!

If you are going for standard size tyres, i.e. 205/70/15 i would give the Yokohama Geolander G012 a look.

the main reason for going out is to hopefully improve its handling and seems to make them look a bit better. But didn't know about them rubbing once you've fitted spacers, so might have to re-look into that one!

Cheers,
Tom
ps- what wheels do you have jonesy?

They dont handle as bad as people make out. Im generally quicker than most people if I want to be ;)

I dont know if it would rub with lower profile tyres than the 195 80 I run.
