my first day out !

Hi all ,
Well I've done it . First event in the jimny i bought it two weeks ago with a gear box problem.
Two very good friends Shaun and Andy ensured that I was up and running for sunday.I would like to say a huge thank you to them. Andy found me the jimny let me use his workshops Donate a set of diamond tires ,machined spigots and the starter motor, double trailerd me to and from the event etc;etc A true Star.
Shaun rushed back from his holiday to aluminium weld a new lobe to the starter motor and helped in many other ways.once again Thank you Both.!!!!!!!!!!!!
We headed off to our local club event at wormhough farm at rushton spencer cheshire.
I was so nervious.with all the preliminarys done it was off to the first ten gate section.
My turn came I could not even get up a small incline wheels spining going no where......
I tried to get up the stone covered lane to go back to the car park still would not pull up the slope.....Help came in the form of another competitor (steve. thanks Mate) he noticed the rear wheels where not spinning after going through all the transfere box options. we finaly found the vacume pipe had come off the manifold so the four wheel drive was not engaging...... Sorted.
With this sort of start I made a few early mistakes .Picking up a six for clipping a cane crossing deep ruts (turning across them) thing got better and better the lock was awsome , and the jimney was very responsive on hills etc etc. by the end off the day I finished second in the standard 4x4 class only one point behind the winner.(well done Jack)
All in all a great day ....loads of fun ...great friends... next date end October.cant wait.
