Okay, here's a couple of pics from my current road trip. No coast to be seen on this route.
Road tripping to Sydney via Bathurst on the Newell Hwy, my first time driving the Newell (a39), a bit bumpy but very light traffic so far. Drove Brisbane to Coonabarabran today and tomorrow is on to Bathurst but probably via Parkes. Round trip will be 2200kms

What do you do about the Jimny's poor fuel range on long trips in remote areas? Do you carry a fuel can or do you fill up at every roadhouse you pass?

No camping this time, was a bit cold. I get up to about 390 kms before refuelling and there's plenty of refilling choices down the Newell Hwy, I just use a gerry can on other trips where I'll need a longer range.
Did a lap of Mt Panorama
On the way to Parkes
Visited 'The Dish'
Last stop before heading home to Brisbane was the Volkswagen Spectacular in Nambucca Heads
Quick tourist snap as I passed through Coffs Harbour
