The jimny got down it quite easily, was tricky at the top as I had no idea where the ground was as it fell away sharply. Stuck it in first low and just covered the brake pedal and prayed. Discovery was ok until it's passenger side wheel climbed up the bank rather than down into the drop then the angle caused it to slip into the gully and tip forwards. My mate in the disco is cool as a cucumber and just handed me a couple of straps out his passenger window and I pulled him back till his wheels touched back down and he reversed it back out.

By the way, if you think about tackling the "swamp" up there... dont bother. An SJ ended up with no clutch last weekend due to an attempt to get through. :(

Found a mental new track up at castleside that I was warned not to try, so I thought hey ho why not give it a go. As you climb up from the entrance the track has that tight right hand bend that has some large slabs in the ground, I turned left instead and followed along that way into an opening then dropped down a descent I've done a few times. At the bottom we always go right so I went left and pushed through some branches and along a track. This is when it got really tricky narrow track, rocks, swamp and I almost tipped over whilst driving along with the passenger wheels on the bank and the drivers side wheels in deep gloopy mud, so gave up. Then found a good track along the top where it's all open, you drive into the corner and through some bushes and the track opens up and reveals a tricky drop with a mud wall on your left as you drop down the gully. Had loads of fun and collected loads of paint scratches.

Yeah i know where you mean. My mate tried to get up that last one you mention in his fourtrak and ended up with a nice dent in his wing... soon fixed that with a crowbar ha ha!

The other way you mention can bring you out at the main road aswell if im thinking of the same one!

Yeah it would bring you out on the main road but just before it bears right and onto the road you can branch off to the left and that's where the real fun was. If I could have got through it I think you pop out into the entrance bit through the trees on the left. Going to put my new winch on it next week then will try again and pull myself through it if I have to.....lol.
