Winch fitting! T MAX 6500

ok , so I started with some idea's from the internet. I'd seen winches fitted to the chassis rail ends on a jimny. and that's what I wanted on mine.

So first I brought a landrover Winch Tray. abit like this one..

Measured it up and cut it down to side.

Then the Fairlead (being smaller) needed relocating

And it all fits like this

now for some metal work ;)

Now some nice "Hammerite Smooth Black" would finish it off :cheer:

The front bumper needed abit of cutting and Da Dar :woohoo:

A big thanks goes out my bro Chris, For all his help ;)

Manual locking free wheeling hubs :side:

I was thinking of differents ways to deal with the Vac Hub system, I know some people disconnect the pipes at the hubs and then block them up.

and then I throught, why not deal with the system at the root [start]. :pinch:

so I did this

And then the vac hubs never try to engage :side:
I taped up the ends of both connecters with electrical tape to stop dirt getting in.
And you don't get the "pretty green 4WD light" on the dash. but do you really need it.

anyway the hubs, fitted with BigJimny Shop manual hub rings and bolts.
all cleaned up and now on :)

thanks for showing us just how capable a jimny can be with a simple 2" suspension lift

great vids - good to see the winch and recovery points in action
looks like you could have done with a machette, but trying to explain it to the law could be tricky :(

look forward to your next mods & adventures ;)
