Quite a big job, propshaft off, disconnect filler tube (takes ages, bolt has to be cut) disconnect breather, undo bolts, lower tank, disconnect fuel pipes (needs a special tool I believe), disconnect wires to pump and gauge.

Why are you changing it?

The usual leak is from around the top of the filler spout beneath the rubber filler tube. If you spend half an hour cutting the bolt with a hacksaw blade the filler pulls off, the spout cleans with emery, and you can coat it with Plastic Padding Leak Fix or similar, smooth with fingers, when it cures refit the spout with a nasty worm drive clip, bodge done ;)

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there :)
