If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

Does the interior lamp work with the drivers door?
If it doesn't, check the door switch.
If it does do the checks Martin posted above.
You might find the PO disconnected it because it is very annoying when you need the keys in and the door open.
