Lights on Alarm was created by Baz2236
Hi people I noticed yesterday I have no lights on alarm for when you open the door and the lights are on.
Anyone know where it is located or what to check when it does not work.
Thanks,
Baz

Have you checked the simple things like fuses?
I'll try to remember to have a look tomorrow if I remember to see where the noise comes from. It's saved me a flat battery a few times!!!.

I had a look last night and it's a black box under the driver's side dash above the pedals and to the front of the car from the fuse box and relays. It measures I'd guess about 5 inches by 4.5 inches and has a multiplug of about 10 wires coming out towards the front of the vehicle and is screwed to the body with a couple of metal brackets off it.
This box appears to make the same bleeping noise for the key in the ignition warning when you open the driver door (a broken bleep) and the continual bleep of the lights on warning noise when you open the drivers door with the engine off and the lights still on.
If yours doesn't work, I'd contact CAM SUZUKI on their ebay shop - both Martin and I have mad stuff from them - or Darren at KAP for a replacement to try to see if that resolves the problem.
Check all your fuses first and that the multiplug to it is in properly - perhaps taking it out and putting it back in again.
Hope this helps.

The alarm has a number of input wires for you to check....
1. A Red/Yellow wire on pin 7 - this comes from the lights switch and looks like 12 volts will appear when the lights are on.
2. A Black/Yellow wire from the door switch on Pin 8. With all the doors closed this will have 12 volts on in and will go to 0 volts with a door open
3. Balck Wire - An earth connected to pin 2
4. Blue/Green wire - Ignition key input on pin 16. Looks like it will have 12 volts on it when the keys are in the ignition.
5. Black/White wire (or Red/Black)- Power input on pin 10

Sorry to restart such an old thread, but just wondering whether all jimnys have this functionality? My 1999 makes no noise ever! Not when key in ignition or when lights on and door open. I do think I have the black box mentioned above.
Any help?!
