i think the best way is to fit a rocklobster to sort out gearing ,i havent heard any mods like the vit r&p fitted to the sj to strenghten the diff
maybe someone along soon might be able to help

It depends on the model of Jimny that you have.

If you have a look here

www.bigjimny.com/images/documents/transferboxratios.pdf

I believe that the diff ratios on the later 2005+ VVT engines are lower so there would be some gain if you fitted these.

i already got rock lobster but with my 33in kumhos in could do with being improved
and if i get new ring and pinions i would improve the gearing in low and hi,
it is fairly simple swap, just remove diff and strip down and rebuild with new gears,
martin do you know if sj diffs are similar to jimny.

iv been told SJ diff locks can fit in the rear but very unsure about the ring and pinion and whether or not its true but options would open up for many things if they do id also like to know and not just 'my mate said' as unless iv done it myself i don't believe it ha

I think its all to do with spline size and count and I don't know what is what. I am pretty sure that an SJ Diff does not drop in.
