Non vvti transfer case swap into vvti body was created by zookscooked
Hi guys Ive just gutted my 02 jimny so I can put the r7me gearbox and [manual stick] transfer into a new [to me] 06 vvti model. Although the physical side of the swap has been a cake walk Im curious if there are any pitfalls as far as wiring to the case before I start the rebuild?
Also I have the option of a automatic and manual [stick] trans case im assuming the ratios are different. Will be running 235/75/r15s so which case would suit that rolling diameter for onroad use?
Thanks in advance.

On the link above you can use your numbers from the table to calculate at what speed you get what rpm with your tyre size.
using the pull down alternatives for a samurai is pretty much the same as early gen 3 jimny ratio.
i havent done the calc for this combo myself as there are no 01-03 jimnys here in Norway and those parts are hard to come by here.
I am not sure if the diff ratio from your 06 would suit your 235's in combo with the early gen3 ratio, but it just might.
It is the right direction at least and would give higher rpm in all speeds.

please do not take this as The Truth and do purchases based on these numbers, do your own calculation:
In fifth gear high:
You might get 90kmh at 3000rpm with 215 tyres in a original 06 jimny.
You might get 85kmh at 3000rpm with 235 tyres in a 06 jimny with 02 gearbox and transfer.
