Tips for saggy seat belt

The driver-side seatbelt in our 2013 Jimny has recently started to sag, to the point that it's hanging loose and getting stuck in the door on exit.

Any tips to remedy this? I've seen all sorts from cleaning the whole belt in soapy water to using furniture polish!

The first thing I do is clean the seat belt with a bucket, detergent, and a peg. And I let the seatbelt soak for a few hours.

The next step is to use silicone spray on the belt on front and back side.

If that does not do the job, then I use a teflon tape that I glue to the inside of the 180° bend of the top seatbelt holder.

I did all this and even dismantled the hole belt spool assy for cleaning and relube and wound up the clock spring a few extra turns.

All this help. But after a few days it just start to sag again.
Silicone spray is the best maybe just because it is cheap and easy.
Put it on the day before the mot and it last even a day extra.

I have given up.

I just slam mine in the door, then if the door won't shut because the buckle is stuck in the door jamb I open it and poke the belt behind the seat.

They are just rubbish at retracting unless you help them, mine is 7 years old now, but it has only been used around a thousand times, the clockspring should have been wound properly tighter, so it keeps pulling you back flat against the seat, and makes it hard to breathe!

I keep meaning to poke the belt inside behind the seat when I get out, but I never ever remember....

My 42 year old gen 2 jimny from 1984 spins the belt back just fine so it is not that it is difficult to make one that works...
