Hi i have just joined today and looking for some help. I have a 2016 auto and
I need to clean the VVT Solenoid but am having a lot of trouble finding it. Ive been told its at the back, the front, the side, take the front wheel off, undo this bolt, undo that bolt.
Surely its got to be easier than this??
It's crazy because I have just changed the gasket, the plugs, the ignition coils, the oil and filter and im getting a P0011/P0012 code
If anyone can point me on the right direction I would be most grateful.

Good question! I don't know for sure but let's do some detective work...
The red circle shows where engine oil is fed to the actuator on the end of the intake camshaft. This is the VVT bit. The green circle shows where this oil feed originates from the engine block. Between the green and red circles it goes through the timing cover (not present in the photo). So the solenoid is either on the front of the engine in the timing cover (blue electrical connector I believe) or somewhere on the left hand side of the engine where the blue arrow is pointing. Unfortunately I don't have a VVT engined Jimny nearby at present to check.

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

It is supposed to be bolted onto the outside of the timing cover half way down. (I've never seen one though
