2 questions about rear prop shaft was created by The Coil Spring
I need to replace the rear universal joint.
- Will oil leak out of the transfer case when rear prop shaft is removed?
- Am I allowed to drive the Jimny in 4WD without the rear prop shaft fitted?

If it suddenly breaks, go back to the last thing that you did before it broke and start looking there

No oil comes out of the transfer box.
The car will drive fine in 4WD using just the front axle, but I wouldn't drive it on the road like that, if there was an accident even the least observant of inspectors will notice the missing propshaft and your insurer will try and blame it for the accident. Even if they can't they will play the "undeclared modification" card to reduce the payout, or even declare the insurance void as they would never cover a FWD jimny.
Why do you need to?
With the propshaft off half an hour will see a new spider fitted then you can just put it back.
