A bit of an oddball scenario here. I have a JDM '98 Suzuki Jimny Wide in the USA and need front calipers. The person I purchased the vehicle from included a set of replacement rotors and pads (unused, in box). These are the solid units with the 107mm centerbore and 290mm diameter. However, I need the calipers and would rather not pay to import a pair.
I know about the vented disc conversion, but wasn't sure if I needed a new master cylinder or not. But I already have everything other than the calipers I need.
Has anyone ever fitted 2DR Vitara/Sidekick/Tracker calipers? I know there probably wouldn't be a performance advantage, but I already have all the other parts.
I cross-referenced the Vitara and Jimny brake calipers, and they are different part numbers, but that doesn't mean that they wouldn't fit.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi
The key to mixing and matching brake parts is all about the carriers. (not sure if the phrase translates to the USA, the part that mounts the caliper to the hub).
I believe (but cannot promise) that these calipers&carrier from an early Sidekick/Tracker fit. (Right and Left). The only issue tends to be the orientation of the caliper after they are mounted as it is different and may position the bleed nipples in the wrong position so you have to get clever with bleeding the brakes. At the price they are at it may be worth buying just one side and checking the fit. I have a collection of these parts lying around but it would probably be cheaper to purchase them locally than to get me to send them.

I see their return policy is :Every part we sell may be returned within 30 days for a refund of the part price with the exception of liquids that have been opened (oil, paint) and Gift Certificates . Arrange your return on the Order Status & Returns page.
If a part doesn't fit, don't try to "make it fit" and risk damaging the part, your car, or yourself! RockAuto is not responsible for any costs exceeding the cost of the part, and we will not accept returns of parts that have been installed or modified.
To receive credit, a returned part must be complete and in its original, unmarked manufacturer's packaging (unless specifically noted otherwise). Cores must be returned in the box the new part came in. Returns may not be refundable if the part, or the manufacturer's box, is damaged while in transit to our warehouse.Shipping charges are not refundable unless the return is due to our mistake. If you refuse delivery or the carrier returns a package because you provided an invalid address, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Thanks for your insight. I was thinking the same thing. I had a 1995 Sidekick and wish I still had some old calipers lying around. I will probably get a set locally and see whether or not they work.
Any idea if I'd need a larger master cylinder if I went with the larger Vitara 4DR calipers/vented rotors?

I know for sure that the 4 door vitara calipers (with their carriers) fit just fine (bleed nipple in wrong position) and work with the vented Jimny disks we can get in the EU (Diesel model).
