I need to install a single fuse, aftermarket fuse box within 12 inches of the battery to power a subwoofer.

Anyone have any advice or pics of good locations? Also, there are 3 accessory connections on the positive battery terminal. Can I connect to the rear passenger side one?

Below are the areas I've found so far:

Passenger side between battery and firewall. Directly above firewall wiring grommet grommet. Horizontal.

Passenger side between battery and firewall. Directly above firewall wiring grommet. Vertical.

Firewall near battery. Attached to existing bracket and a sheet metal screw thru firewall. Above and to the right of the passenger side firewall, wiring grommet. Horizontal.

How much power does the subwoofer need?

"RMS Power Output: ~80W RMS
Peak Power: ~200W
Operating Voltage: 12V DC
Recommended Power Wire: 8 AWG (which you’re already using)
Real-world current draw:
80W RMS ÷ 12V = ~6.6A
Add inefficiency (~60–70% amp efficiency) → realistic draw ≈ 10–15 amps under heavy bass"

For anything under 20 amps I'd use a simple inline blade fuse holder, which is light enough to be cable tied to any existing component in the vacinity of the battery. Something like this:

I'd wire that to the existing head unit feed, which, by the way, is where I have mine (Pioneer TS-WX110a).

Realistically speaking, you're never going to hit the predicted 10~15 amp draw - not even with a continuous bass tone from a signal generator.

Haven't seen those in a while. I'm running an 8 gauge into the cab for all my stereo stuff on a 10 amp inline fuse, slightly bigger than the one Busta shows as it's manufactured into the cable. I think it was part of a prewired kit. Either way it's quite happily running my 4x100 head unit and 200mm under seat powered sub. If I were using your one I'd probably glue it on the inner wing as close to the battery as I could.
