My alternator in my 2008 VVT has worn out so I’m looking at replacing it with a higher amp alternator for a GV V6.

The new alternator has the older D-IG-L pin out where as mine has the newer C-IG-L pin out, anyone know if they’re still compatible?

I’ve used this document ( www.bigjimny.com/forum/attachment/17621?download=1 / www.bigjimny.com/forum/7-jimny-technical...ator-options?start=0 ) which suggests they're compatible with the C pin not being utilised but the seller I’m getting the alternator off doesn’t think it will work without the C pin for ECU signal.

any one done this before or have any ideas?

There is how I put a 100A generator in my jimny. Not sure how clever it was, squeeky belt and noisy bearings now. Havent had time to look more into it. Will most likely try to change the engine pulleys for 5 track if I cant make it hold on the 4track belt.
