You can get green power steering fluid, I've just never seen any green ATF.
If you look for green fluid, it tends to be Mercedes/BMW/Porsche that use green fluid CHF-11S (because it is obviously far more expensive than ATF for posh cars)
For all I know, secret special Suzuki own brand fluid may be green, I've never bought any!
Will CHF-11S (if that is what it is) mix with ATF? No-one knows. It may cause leaks, or turn to jelly.
The internet has conflicting advice. Rumour has it that mixing the two will affect seals and cause leaks, even if you flush out one and change to another there is enough of the old fluid on the seals to react. (and you've always had a leak......)
If it was mine I'd flush all the green out and fill with ATF on the grounds that I have no idea what the green is and therefore can't buy any more, but be prepared to fit a second hand non-leaky pump.
You can either suck out any red before you start the engine & mix it, then hope that it is CHF-11S and get some of that, or buy more ATF and flush & fill with ATF.

I suppose you could ring a Suzuki service dept. and ask what colour the fluid is supposed to be, you never know Suzuki brand fluid might be green....

Does the large lid on the power steering reservoir come off ? It seems very tight as if it is not designed to be removed and I dont want to break it.

I couldn't take it off mine, so just removed the bottom hose to drain it.
