MPH speedo conversion? was created by FrankFisher99
Hi all, I'm picking up a fresh 2010 JB43 import from Japan this week and will be converting the speedo from KPH to MPH; has anyone done this? I've located the right instruments/dials from Lockwood, but I'm wondering how the needles come off on this Gen3 model - lever them off, or wind them anti clockwise? Does anyone know with certainty?

pulled carefully straight off.
I put mine back in a bit off so getting a nice and cold engine and can drive longer on the empty fuel tank
make a note/line/tape to mark the correct positions before you dismantle.
the speedo I put back in more correctly I think, getting correct redout there.
I did not convert, just searching for an error inside there but changed the complete cluster in the end.
If you change the cluster the milage/kms will be altered, it is stored in the cluster and not the ECU.

Thanks! Im really worried about breaking them, so when you say "pulled straight off" could you just describe exactly what you did? Please? Also, what year car do you have?

Slide a dining fork under the needle so that the tines of the fork sit under the boss on either side of the shaft, slip a paper napkin between the back of the fork & the dial to reduce the chance of marring the old dial, and gently ease the needle up and off the shaft.
