I don't think it does, or rather, there is nothing in my owner's manual that suggests the light comes on for an over temp condition.

I seem to remember reading something about it flashing the selector symbol on the display in the dashboard but I can't remember if it was even jimny related or just general suzuki?

Good morning, there is a few things going on with the floor of the Jimny;

the exhaust runs stright under the left foot well with a hotdog type muffler there (heat retainer),
the auto does generate a lot of heat and,
the floor is 1.2 - 1.6mm tin with no heat shielding.

So what i have done was a quick trip to AUTO Barn and got some Car builders floor deadener stick on sheet, took the floor mat and covered the whole floor. No more heat and not more noise.

I mainly use mine off road at slow speed
Fitting bonnet vents helps with heat disspersal a lot
