Non-death wobble vibrations at speed. was created by Sheepish
2005 Jimny with 75,000 miles. Getting some major vibration above 50mph when I'm on the throttle. Lift the throttle and the vibration stops. It affects the whole car, but the steering is fine, so I'm ruling out front wheels / hubs / king pins. I did change the rear engine/ gearbox mount a couple of months ago which slightly improved some difficult gear changes. If anything it feels like it's coming from front passenger side. Any thoughts on what to look at?

Was the driveshafts out when doing the gearbox mount?
they could have been put together at the wrong spline so the U-joints don't align correctly?

No. Just jacked up the gearbox and unbolted the mount. The vibration was there before I changed the mount, just the mount change didn't help it. I can see I wasn't very clear about that initially.

Bad universal joint, would be my guess. That is why it happens only on-throttle, when the torque loads the bearing surfaces in the joint.
