No voltage on fuse 19 CONT

Hi,

2020 Jimny (3 door, RHD, this fuse box:  fuse-box.info/suzuki/suzuki-jimny-2018-2020-fuses ).

I had a dashcam connected to the fuse 19 holder (piggy back fuse). The dashcam had a problem and the fuse blew. I took the dashcam off, replaced the fuse on the piggyback but there's no voltage. I measured the fuse contacts in the fuse box; no voltage on either of the blade female connectors at the 19 fuse position.

There must be a fuse before fuse 19 CONT gets power, but where is it?

If anybody knows or has a wiring diagram that shows it, that'd be very helpful.

I can’t find my wiring diagram just now, but it is likely that fuse 19 is on a circuit with other things, protected by one of the big fuses in the engine bay fuse box. Have a look in there and see if any have blown.

EDIT: I have reread you post and you did say CONT, so guess we are on about the same fuse.

I am guessing you are referring to the fuse box inside the car under the dashboard?
Suzuki label the fuses differently from that link you posted (where it shows two fuse 19s, one in engine bay, and one under the dash).

Do you have TPMS or the Emergency Call feature fitted where you are? If so are they working correctly?

I would have thought if one of the main fuse's were blown on the battery, you would have more outages somewhere?

Both the Central Gateway Control and the TPMS are earthed at Earth point #10 which is under the steering wheel, is this still a good grounding?
 

Yep, fuse 19 inside the car (so on the passenger side, I'm in NZ so RHD car, fuse box is on the left of the passenger footwell). I had no idea CONT was for TPMS or Emergency call functionality (I have neither). From the label I just assumed this was continuous power (and it was), so that's where I connected the dashcam. I've now put the dashcam on fuse 18 (Radio) that is also continuous. The ground should still be good, but I'll check that. No other faults so I doubt any fuse in the engine bay is blown, but I'll check that as well. Will report back here in a moment...

What exactly is a "Central Gateway Control Module"? Does one come in all Jimny's, and if so, what is it used for? I definitely do not have a TPMS or an Emergency Call feature.

The central gateway control module is a part of the CANBus system, so if we're talking about a Gen4, all Jimnys have them, if it's Gen3, I'm not certain, early Gen3s would not have CANBus, and I don't know if the later ones did.

CANBus, for those who may not be familiar with it, is the Control Area Network, which is a "bus" type network is the electronic communication link that all the electronic modules talk to one another over - ECU, TCU, EPS, ABS, plus whatever your particular car happens to have - your diagnostic scanner will also hook into this to get data
