Stop Beep Warning @120 Kmph was created by Rajvijayarajan
Hi, I am based in UAE and own a 5 Door Jimny (2024 Model). One of the most irritating noise is the continuous beeping after touching 120 KMPH speed. Is there a possible to shut out the beep sound? I have gone through the forum and one of the suggestion is to disable/ remove the beeper behind the instrument panel... something I dont want to do because all other warnings also get disabled.
Want to to know if anyone has tried to disable through other means like reprogramming. I know someone here in UAE who has all the warning beeps but the continuous bee above 120Kmph.
Thanks for your insight in advance.

Raj

My Gen 4 has a speed limiter, I have never used it, but your bleep sounds like the speed limiter warning you.

The limiter is on the steering wheel next to the cruise control, press Limit then Cancel (possibly cancel twice) and that should switch it off.

Otherwise have a look in the manual or Google Jimny Speed Limiter.

The speed limiter on the JB74 is a physical (well electrical limiter :D ). It will stop the car exceeding a set speed unless you are at wide open throttle. It doesn't beep.

I find it very handy on motorways, where it is often too busy to use Cruise control, but you can set the speed limiter at say 73mph. This way you can drive and know you won't end up speeding, you also have more stable speed as you can push the pedal further without increasing speed, so small fluctuations on your foot position have less impact. And if you need to slow you can just lift off.

None of this likely helps the op though. Sounds something legislative for the UAE. I doubt anyone in the UK will have any experience and some local knowledge is required.

Do not think I ever been above 120kmh :)

But on my Gen3 the first thing I did was to dismantle the dash cluster to put a piece of tape inside the buzzer/beeper to break the electrical connection to it.

Can be reversed at any time should it fail MOT or something and the warning lights still work as usual.

Not an option if it might void warranty on a new car I guess.

It's probably a speed warning from the Sat Nav or road sign camera if fitted.  I found this Youtube vid which shows how to turn off the Speed Limit Warning bleep on Suzuki.

Only trouble according to the video, you have to turn it off every time you start the car up.

The ADAS garbage in post-July 2024 EU/UK cars absolutely ruins the car.  None of it works reliably (it picks up speed limit signs in side roads and the speedo is very fast too, reading 30 at 25mph, lane keep assist tries to put you in the ditch on narrowing roads, etc).  And it all has to be turned off for every trip.  LKA has a button but turning off TSR, the source of most irritation, requires delving into the menus using the fragile dash stalk.  Some other brands make it much easier.
