2013 M13A auto to manual swap was created by BigWhiteJimny
G'day fellas,
I'm on a mission to swap in a manual transmission into my 2013 M13A powered 3rd gen Jimny,
Yes I am aware buying a manual one will be a much better idea however I really can't see myself parting ways with my current Jimny.
So far I'm aware you need to change the diffs out to those from a manual model as they have different ratios,
I'm mainly looking for just a list of parts I need to gather for this swap,
so far I've got gearbox, t-case, diffs, pedal box, clutch cable and hardware, and obviously the associated interior parts that are different. assuming I will also need a manual model ECU to get it to work properly.
Are there any other tricky bits that one can expect to need to change out during the swap aswell? and also assuming the manual gearboxes are completely different between M13 and G13 powered models (which sucks as there's 2 complete G13 powered ones being stripped down the road from me)
Any help is greatly appreciated, cheers!

You'll need something to block off the coolant hoses that run from the radiator to the transmission.
Also, how does it work with having to have the clutch pedal depressed when switching to 4WDL? is the wiring for the switch present on any Jimny regardless of Manual/Auto?

The m13 would not fit a G13 gearbox. Completely different bellhousing.
I have no idea if the bellhousing can be swapped between boxes but I know the auto bellhousing would not fit the manual box.
That said, i know that the flywheel from a manual Will fit an auto engine, and the G13 clutch is the same as the m13 clutch.
Is there a clutch pedal switch that prevent 4low?
Havent seen one..?

Forgive me for asking but what is so wrong with the automatic as to make you want a manual? The automatic is far superior off road and on when used correctly and the difference in acceleration and fuel consumption is negligible especially when put against the cost of converting to a manual.

The autos are worth much more, so sell it and buy a better condition manual one.

Add the wiring harness & jack shaft (from the transmission to the transfer case) to the list, and when you're finished making the list, call around and get prices for the various pieces on it.
You're most likely going to find that the easiest & least expensive way to get all the parts is to buy a "donor" vehicle, if you can get that at a good price, say from a wreck or rusted out vehicle you'll be ahead of the game.
By the way, in this case, easiest has to do with how long it will take you to hunt down the smaller miscellaneous pieces, brackets, interior trim, that sort of stuff, so the length of time it takes to complete the project.
