Hi from Finland,
I am avid hunter looking for new 4x4. I have always loved look of Jimny and planning to get one. Dealer close to me has one 2017 AT model for 16k€. In meter there is already 170k kilometers. If i will go for test ride what should i check? Is there some specific places or parts what to check? Then about those kilometers, is 170k kilometers too much too much if i plan to keep the car in daily use for next few years?
Thanks already for info and replys.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
I think there is a buyers guide in the BigJimny Wiki, if not just look at the FAQ or common problems section for a Gen 3
The usually things to look for are a wobble at 50mph (80km/h), this isn’t a disaster, it usually means king pin bearings have gone.
The other problem is rust, behind the headlamps, in the boot, engine mounts, but this Jimny is not old enough unless it had a really hard life.
160k km is a bit on the high side, but not excessive, the Jimny engine and transmission is fairly robust, but there are several members on here with automatic transmission and they will have a better idea than me about potential problems.
As for price, it probably sounds about right, but I am in the U.K., so don’t know how prices go. Forum member Yakuza is in Norway, he might have a better idea.
Hope that helps.
Robin

For the most part as long as all the fluids are clean and at the correct level then the automatic is usually trouble free. That kms is fine I've seen twice that on other daily drive car so in principle I wouldn't discount it from the search.

That mileage on a newer car wouldn't put me off, as long as the price reflects it. Many Jimnys take 20 years to reach that mileage, and they can easily do a lot more without any major mechanical issues.
