Slow reaction on engine speed when depressing gas pedal. was created by Ulltand
Hello,
I have a gen 3 2005 DDIS (renault turbo diesel 1,5 L 85 hp) When shifting gears i feel i have to wait a second or so for the engine speed come down. Is this fault or property of the engine? Recently i start to suspect that it might be chip tuning in the car because its quite strong imo for 85 hp.
My best
Patrick

I don't know much about the diesel but I thought they were only 63 ish horse power so if you have 85 it does suggest a tune of some kind and those can be very hit and miss when it comes to driveablity.

The only way a diesel can exhibit "throttle" lag is if it keeps injecting fuel after you take your foot off. I doubt there is a mechanical governor on a DDIS so it is likely to be the remap.
