Cheers Lambert, what vac hose you thinking? , I checked the PSV on the back left of the rocker cover, and it seems to be fine (it actuates when i put my finger over when running) i read here that the AIC valve on the side of the throttle body can be the problem? ive a much cleaner one on my donor car i could swap. would that be a next step? shes in for an MOT today so i,m hoping that wont be rotton beyond test.

Did you try the cross head screw with the lock nut
That's how I sorted my revs when I fitted liana throttle body
