Since my last reply i've upgraded my car (Gen 4 2 Door vers.) to a King monotube smoothies shock with a stock springs (front and rear) and have tested it for somewhere around 7.000 km with combined stop and go city driving, highway touring, gravel road trips and compacted sand and i could confidently say that it have been a pleasure.
Ride comfort has never been better before, on normal speed (40-60 KMPH) you barely noticed any potholes or undulation that aren't too massive but you could feel the wheel articulating and instill a sense of confidence on the steering wheel (although i've installed a Tough Dog RTC shock steer, it could be a factor)
On gravel road, the sweet spot are somewhere around 50-70 KMPH depending on your mechanical sympathy, but could vary depending on the road
The shock itself is a monotube non reservoir version with an internal floating piston separating the fluid and the nitrogen gas, it does help with shock fatigue on long stretch of driving since you could feel the stock jimny shock sagging and "drooping" if you've driven it too long on rough road surface since the fluid could be cavitated, but you barely noticed it in this shock. i've gone on a 350 KM roadtrips with 80 - 100 KM stretch of driving.
i've installed it at my local King shocks distributor, but before that i've emailed Ben at Filthy Motorsport last April about the shock and he said that the shock are new release from King and not sure if there are any distributor has them in stock. Lucky for me, i'm not from the US and my local King distributor actually has them in stock
there's a few variation for jimny with external finned reservoir, bypass and etc but in my opinion are overkill for my daily use and the occasional roadtrips.
And to answer the main topic, my jimny hasn't been lifted although the shock could accommodate up to 1" lifts.
This is the link for the products and you could find the pictures attached below,

So far, the bad thing about this is that i still couldn't confidently drive over a speed bump higher than ±10 cm faster than 30 KMPH otherwise the car would compact my spine and i would be shorter a few cm, reckon i could fix that with a lift but oh well.
cheers
