Hi!
Pretty much new here
I don't know if this is the correct category
I have a SZ4 Jimny Gen 4 and want to connect an automatic switch to the headlight's Low Beam. I know the headlight low/high beam are negative switching. What I would like to know is if anyone can label or tell me which one are the wires on the plug that is under the steering wheel So I can figure out which ones are the ones for the low beam / high beam positive and negatives

Why not start by looking at the back of the headlights? You won't find the "positives" under the dash.

I was able to locate the positive of the parking lights but there are many more wires in the plug so I can tap into the negatives of the low beam since I know headlights have constant power and they switch negative in order to turn them on / off / low / high

Its a CANbus system so there are no switching wires under the steering wheel
The controller for the lights is the BCM under the bonnet. The CANbus sends the lighting request to the BCM which controls the lights through the relay box next to the BCM.
The SZ4 Gen 4 (Halogen headlights) is positive switched

Well It's been a while
Here are my findings.
Your European Jimny seems to be way different than the ones we have in Latin America. I've been studying what you said about the CANbus and the BCM toggling the lights and for ours, this is not truly certain maybe for your Jimnys in the UK they do but ours are different.
Let me explain, the lightning lever has four states 1. off - 2. parking lights on 3. low beams and the last one as you know is when you push it on the low beam position it toggles the high beam
In the photo I attached I managed to find that the brown wire is the one that switches the parking lights so if you add power current externally to that wire it will turn on the parking lights.
My problem is that I need to know now which wires are the ones that carry the other states of the lever (low beam and high beam) I do know this is a negative switched system as I mentioned above (most Japanese cars are like this so that's how I already knew it)
Now here starts the new stuff
If you can see in the photo there are two red wires, these two red wires are somewhat related to the low and high beams. They change polarities and drop voltages when the lever is in the low beam position.
I grounded one of those red wires and it switched the high beams so now I know, that in order to toggle the beams on the car I just need to add a ground signal to one of the wires involved
Now My issue. Is pretty hard to tell which wire is the one that carries the Low beam toggle signal which is the one I need to toggle in order to finish my project

You can either use a meter to see which wire "goes low" when you select low beam - OR - try my original suggestion - look at the back of the headlight bulb.
By the way, only one of the wires is red, the other one has a white stripe, so one is 'red", and the other is "red with a white stripe", the color of the insulation is used to identify which circuit the wire is a part of.
