I have a 3rd gen Jimny, year 2000, with an automatic transmission. The transmission makes a rattling noise when I give it some gas both in neutral and in gear, but it goes away at high speed. If I press the accelerator slowly it doesn't do it, only if I blip the throttle in neutral or press it to accelerate from a stop. Has anyone experienced a similar thing, and what was your solution?
When you say rattling noise is it a heavy sort of noise or a more tingly lighter noise? Have you been under the car and checked the propshaft joints and exhaust for obvious looseness?
