Hi all, I have an 06 VVT Auto who is playing silly buggers.

Recently started slipping when shifting through gears on cold mornings. Seems to get better when warm.

I have had issues with the well reported output shaft seal leak previously, however the box is full of fluid.

Any thoughts on this, is it just temps or maybe a pressure issue somewhere?

P.S if anyone can post a photo of the AT box fill point that would be great! Manual isn't very helpful.

First things first have you had a code reader on it to see if it thinks it has a problem?

I haven't and that's a good place to start. I'll pick up a code reader and give it a whirl.

Well, the gearbox has completly failed now. Stuck in neutral, with no drive.

The most likely culprit would probably be the oil pump in the box. I have no idea what the current price situation is for a new second hand one but a rebuild is going to be several hundred pounds minimum more if you cannot remove the box yourself.

Just looking at prices on eBay, holy moly, next to no change out of 1500 quid! I'd be finding a gearbox specialist if I were you.
