Good morningI have a jimny and need to change the back wheel bearing which is with abs which I do not use so I do not have the abs ring on the collar is it possible to use a standard collar instead of the long one pls

I very much doubt you’ll be able to “remove” it?!

You can remove it by using a suitable puller but it is not recommended that you reuse it. The ring collar is what keeps the bearing in place so it's critical.

a friend of mine told me he removed it with heat and refitted it with heat again next week i am going to his shop and see how it is done and if it is safe to refit

Yes, heating the ring will expand it and make it easier to remove.

BUT.

Heat soak from the ring when refitting can damage the grease and seals in the bearing so care is required as to the temperature reached by the heating. It is acceptable to heat the ring in boiling water or better still boiling oil. As soon as the ring is seated, cool it with air from the air line.
