I had the opportunity to check under the Jimny when it was on a lift for regular maintenance at the dealer but I couldn't find the gearbox breather anywhere I could look or reach.
I checked again today, this time looking at the engine bay for an extension, but found nothing. The gearbox does look a lot like the one in zukebob's picture, but also there you can't see the breather clearly... I could from the engine bay see the lever on the right side and the pair of tubes that seem to take the gearbox oil through a cooler all the way up in the front, as well as the oil dipstick tube, but no breather.

Has anyone succeeded in the search for this breather or would be willing to investigate it?

The JB74 AT transmission has the standard Suzuki small pop up breather cap at the top rear of the transmission case.

Thank you very much Martin and zukebob! Sorry I couldn't log in earlier.

So 4 breathers to extend, I have got the ARB breather kit and I will purchase a thicker hose and adapters to connect to the components. Thus far I have measured the front/rear diff breathers, about 14mm in diameter. I'm also thinking about joining the 4 hoses into one under the bonnet and to bring it all the way up to the snorkel, where I would place the breather filter - if I get the Brazilian snorkel I might place the breather filter as far on the top as possible to protect from any splash of water that could hit the snorkel inlet screen and to prevent obstruction to the air flow.

I was wondering if placing the breather filter inside the snorkel could cause some trouble by the engine intake air flow creating low pressure on it that could suck the the oil from the diffs/gearbox/transfer case or prevent the correct functioning of the breathers, but maybe I'm just worrying too much about it...
