Why does it seem like everyone is running either 205s, 215s or if youre brave 235s? What about 225s? Are there no all-terrain versions of that tire size? Seems like the 225s would be the best choice for my Jimny on a soon to be 4" lift.
Cheers

I have just gone through the tyre exercise.
I was also looking specifically for 225's but could not get any. So I got the 215/75/15 BF Goodrich K02's.
If you cant get 225s, dont worry too much. The stock tyres on mine were 195's. However they tapered, so the actual contact patch was even narrower. The 215s dont have that much of a taper and have a contact patch that is wider than the 20mm increase would suggest.
For tyre compatibility take a look at

Keep in mind:
Gen 3 Jimny.
Use the table as is. 205/70/15 is the factory standard
Gen 4 Jimny
195/80/15 is the standard. Check from there.

Then changed them for 195/80/16 extreme to suit my trialling needs
Now member sniper is putting the 225's to good use

Tyre sizes aren't just about width. They are about diameter and sidewall size too. Especially off road. In the UK I've found narrow tyres tend to work better than fat ones as a general trend.justintime441 wrote: Hello all, new guy to the forum with many questions,

Aggressive narrow tyres give it that classic ww2 Willys Jeep look!!!
