Rattle somewhere in dashboard on Gen4

Hi Guys,

I have a rattle somewhere in my dashboard on my 2020 Jimny.

Its something small - like two pieces of plastic ticking together. I hear it when driving on a tarred road.

Some troubleshooting info:

I bought mine second hand with 7500 km so its basically brand new.
The previous owner did not take it offroad.
It has a pioneer double din and the mic is in the top right hand corner of the roof. (Its right hand drive).

So someone has obviously been in the dash.

The problem is that I can't exactly pinpoint the location since I am partially deaf in my left ear. I can hear ok, but my right ear is a lot more sensitive to higher frequencies.

So it sounds to me like its coming from the right hand side of the dash by the steering wheel. My son says it sounds like its coming from the center of the dash.

Any ideas where to start looking?

The Jimny is very quiet so this single rattle is like stepping on a damned lego brick in the dark.

On the gen3 the top dashboard screws work loose and rattle, could be worth a look on your gen4?

All three of the top screws holding the dash in place on my Gen3 came loose, they are under plastic covers near the windscreen. I tightened them up and someone on here suggested I should have put them in with Loctite as they will come loose. They did, so now they are in with Loctite.

If the Gen4 is the same, it most likely is then it probably has the same problem. After tightening mine I can actually hear the engine (and the heavy rock on the stereo).
